Armor Question
I am designing a creature that I want to have like 20 protection against bullets, but no protection against fire and lasers. Is there a way to do that currently in the ruleset?

Figured it out. I used 'kinetic 20' to give them 20 points of armor vs bullets, but a laser went right through like I want.

So the current types of damage are:
kinetic
Laser
Fire
Radiation
Anything for stun?

Check the FAQ's, all the Damage Types are listed there

Question from a player that's still quite new to Mongoose Traveller; where do all these damage types come from? Other than Fire and Radiation I don't see anything in my MGT 2.0 CRB about them, especially in the listings for weapons. I also don't see them in my Central Supply Catalog PDF. I do see different damage types in spaceship descriptions.
So...are using these different damage types optional, or something that's added by some DLC supplement or companion?

Hi,
Core Rulebook introduces a few like Lasers, Kinetic etc. Central Supply Catalogue adds more and so on. They're optional but allow different armour sets to protect against different damage values. For example, Relfec is great against lasers but not slug based weapons.

So if armor has 12 protection versus everything and they add Padding to it, would I modify the armor to 12, Kinetic 13? Or 12, Kinetic +1
