Creating the dragdata Object at Will, Revisited (for FGU)
In FGU (and maybe now in FGC) can I create a new dragdata object? Not a clone, but a new one.
I asked this question in 2019 and was told I could not. So I created my own Object and it has worked well for me until FGU.
I now need to revisit my pseudo dragdata object, or hopefully abandon it and be able to "instantiate" new dragdata objects at will.

No, this is not allowed. You can only use drag data objects provided by the events that trigger them; and they are not guaranteed to exist after the triggering event completes.
